Description

This vintage Flores ikat tube sarong comes from Nggela village in the Lio region of central Flores, Indonesia, a community renowned for its exquisite weaving traditions. Handwoven on a traditional back-strap loom and naturally dyed with local plants, this piece features rich reddish-brown tones that reflect both the earthy beauty of Flores and the deep symbolism woven into each thread. Traditionally worn as a tube skirt (sarong), it also makes a stunning textile for display, wall hanging, or collector’s piece.
